About the A-Beka Program
At NLCD your children will be learning through the highly acclaimed A-Beka Curriculm. The A-Beka Book Program has been prepared by Christian teachers and administrators and has been used in Christian school’s for over 60 years. By using the A-Beka Curriculum of art, writing, phonics, reading skills and much more we are providing your child with the opportunity to grow both spiritually and academically. By using this program your child will have a firm foundation that will continue to grow throughout their academic journey

Infants (6weeks-1 year olds)
Our infant caregivers will provide for each child’s basic needs, such as food, rest, diapering, and social interactions as well as a nurturing and loving atmosphere. A set routine is planned to provide a safe, structured day. Proper sanitation will be maintained at all times. The caregivers will provide stimulation and exploration activities to promote appropriate developmental milestones.
The A-Beka Curriculum begins with the two year olds:
- Language development and listening skills include color words, shapes, animals, transportation, and many more
- Number concepts and simple counting
- Hymns and memory verses are taught along with traditional and fun songs
- Recognition of name, sound, and pictures for short vowels and consonants
- Formation of vowels and consonants in upper and lower case
- Color words, shapes
